Terry and Gina Fletcher Terry and Gina have made extensive research of the Fletchers in and around South London and Kent. They also have databases for lots of other names. Their aim is to offer an information exchange facility. Their user friendly website includes a guestbook and an invitation to contact them via the Webmaster email address- well worth a visit!
A Rose on the River If you are a Fletcher family with with young children you can help them enjoy historical fiction. This link is to a website which introduces young readers to a novel set in Elizabethan England. It’s called A Rose on the River, written by Barbara, John’s wife. She has been a teacher for 20 years, and the for the past 10 years she has been a specialist teacher of children with special educational needs. Enjoy!
Left Handers Club Some days us Fletchers just can’t get things right no matter what you do or how hard you try. On these occasions my wife says to me, “What should one expect when you are Welsh and left-handed.” On this kind of day I take solace by reading the Left Handers Club website and their Newsletter. This website is fantastic. It’s packed with anything to do with being left handed, like I am. There’s a shop, reports and how to join the club and receive a monthly Newsletter. Did you know that the national Left Hander’s Day is August 13th every year? Here’s the menu from the latest club Newsletter:
In this issue... 1. Happy Left-Handers' Day - how to celebrate 2. Survey - does being left-handed affect your career choice? 3. Translation of the Left-Handers Day website 4. Scientists discover left-handed gene 5. Correction - 2 for 1 golf DVDs offer 6. New videos demonstrating left-handed items If you are a Fletcher and left handed, like me, you’ll enjoy this. Have fun!
